There are a couple new addition to the Zenamaran collective. I have been wanting to get a replacement toilet aka ship’s head for a while. The smell of a standard head bothers LZ, sleeping over a waste bag bothers me. I really think it is bad feng shui.
I had been looking into composing heads for a while and hoping one would come into the Pelican. When I first started working there on a small scale one came in, new but un-installed, a local and at the time a volunteer grabbed it up for his boat. Anyway I continued my research. I recently came across a new model being sold, an economy model which was more in my budget, about half of what the other brands cost. More basic in syle however still workable . I asked the guy who purchased the other model, the expensive one, how he like his. He informed me it was installed but he had not used it. Further more he was selling his boat and I could buy the one he had for what he paid for it. This was half of the price of a store brought one. I agreed after checking the size and with dome others who had purchased one. So now the ZenCat will be going greener with no holding tank to sleep over. Nice and hopefully according to my research no boat head smell. XtraNice!!
Another item I have been wanting fir the boat is an iPad. Now that iPad 3 is out I began checking more into an iPad 2. It did all the things I needed at a cheaper price. I do not need the latest and greatest. The iPad two just came out last year and had the functions I want and need. Besides being convenient for using on my training trips and for LZ to use around the dock and office. Rather than carry her laptop, video camera and plugs. The iPad is compact and easy to transport and fast. One of the other main selling points is using it as a chart plotter. The apps are not too costly and I can get some to cover all the areas we will be traveling in, especially Japan and the Pacific. Very cool! Now I love my iPod touch, the iPad is like a big version plus it is 3G Verizon set up. Add to that the battery life is 9-10 hours, I can install GarageBand and have a portable mini music studio. Sweet and very cool! Things are looking good! Oct is closing in and pieces are falling into place. Paperwork for the ZenCat is in order, taxes are done and reasonable settlements are there. Next thing other than misc parts and items to replace or add to the boat is our financial debt issues. That is the next weight on our back to deal with. The Force will handle it as with the other stuff. As LZ says my guardian angel is on the job!…yosh!

Excellent. That’s a big improvement in your living conditions and eco impact. I’ll spare you all the jokes that come to mind.
