The last few days have been spent cleaning the Zenamaran in
preparation of the name change ceremony. It is close to complete.
Close but still more to do. One of the side projects has been to get
the sound system up to speed. There is a CD/Radio however it only had
speakers outside in the cockpit. So I had some small wall mount
speakers from s/v Zen I hooked up in the main salon. Ok, that was ok,
however it was lacking bottom, seriously lacking. Being a Bass player
my ears cried when I played the stereo.
This was not acceptable. In my
cleaning efforts I found two spots, two alcoves that were located on
ether side of the table. They were fairly deep, too deep and hard to
access for anything that needed to be used often. A solution flashed.
I placed carpeting in the rear part of it, and placed a pair of house
speakers deep in to the space. There was room enough still in the
front to use for books. Nice!
So after some wiring which turned out to be pretty simple with the
easy access of the CAT, hooked up my iPod to the system, via a special
transmitter wire that the radio picked up the signal and I had some
serious music bumping that evening and to work by later…sweet!
During this process I discovered two more storage areas under the
dining table seats. I had neglected to look there and found more space
and a few more treasures. Out standing! More places to clean but
finding the extra space was worth it.
Little by little things are coming together. I contacted the good Capt
Mary about CAT lessons. As it turns out some time in Nov is good for
her. Another good bit of luck is she teaches on almost the same type
of CAT with centerboards. Yokatta!

It’l looking pretty!
Gerald, our son, also has played bass — string bass that is, along with cello and a bit of guitar.
If everything lines up exactly right (we won’t know probably until this winter), we might be sailing under the Golden Gate around August of next year.

Looking good, neat and it looks so comfy. I would love to spend my weekends in that boat!

Your galley table is decadent, I mean in contrast to the one WE DO NOT have… I’m drooling, sorry…
That little locker, (or is that a drawer?) under the starboard settee looks to be a perfect place for a sub-woofer…
As a drummer, I believe a little kick in the butt is essential!
